The Great Hornet/Lantern Debate

The very lovely and always seductive Peter Georgiou of Think McFly Think wrote a nice article comparing Hornet and Lantern. He mentioned how having two green superheroes in the same year could end up causing confusion amongst casual movie goers and gave the edge to our boy Green Lantern.

I am on that side of the fence as well. Green Hornet seems like your general superhero action flick with its box office relying on Seth Rogens goofy and oaf like loveablity. This may come of as being biased but my opinion is that Green Lantern offers a fresh take on what most people view a comic book film to be. There is a huge scope with Hal Jordan being only one of 7,200 officers that police the entire universe. He ends up being chosen to be a hero rather than don a costume because his mommy or daddy died and he couldn't get over it.

Now that you have opinions of the two writers from Coast City, I'll pass along one from someone that isn't particularly leaning towards either film. I noticed an article today by Chris Hyatt discussing the potential of what might happen with these two green themed movies being released in the same year. Take a moment to read his article over at It's Just Movies.
