First Comments On Green Lantern

With Green Lantern's release date just around the corner, early reviews aren't too far from being plastered all over the web. I expect some people to rear their ugly head's like Parallax and slam the movie just because they want GL to fail for some reason I don't understand. Luckily at this point most of the comments have been very positive. Comic Book Movie compiled a list of tweets from user's who have seen the movie already. As the site mentions there is an embargo over the film until the 12th of this month which will lift and allow full reviews to be posted online. Check a few of the comments below, then head over to their site for the complete list.

"GREEN LANTERN was terrific fun. The fact that it works at all is a miracle, but it really does cook. The first ten minutes sold me."

"Dion Beebe's photography in GREEN LANTERN was also outstanding. All the live-action Earthbound material so warm and inviting."

"The best part about GREEN LANTERN? How it effortlessly skips between cosmic epic to Hal Jordan's story and back again. So much fun."

"The 3D in the opening ten minutes is wonderful. But YOU MUST see it with polarized glasses. The color is great." - BurnettRM

8 Green Lantern Clips

Well here is the ultimate test of willpower. 8 Green Lantern clips have surfaced online through Trailer Addict. I've embedded them above and below. This is like an itch on my nose but my hands are tied down so I'm unable to scratch. Some of these may have spoilerish content so watch at your own risk. The movie is only about a week away now so I'd suggest waiting for the movie to be released. Once you've watched the film in theatres then go crazy with these clips online as the wait begins for the Blu-ray/DVD release.

Green Lantern Concept Art

A few images of concept art have been posted over at Jerad S. Marantz's blog. Some designs of Hector Hammond used an image of Phillip Seymour Hoffman with a photoshopped cranium. The image above shows a more radical design that was thought of for the character as well.

Blog of Oa put together this nice collage of all the guardians. It's great to see each one has a very distinct look and that they won't just be cookie cutter molds of one design. I'm interested to see if they explain what that clear area around their heads is.

Stel looks to have stayed basically the same throughout except for the multi-legged rendetion in the middle. I like the third design the best as the first one kind of resembles an Iron Man/GI Joe amalgamation. Check out Marantz's blog for larger images and even more designs.

World Of Green Lantern Featurette *UPDATED*

Omelete.com has a great new 5 minute video giving us more insight into the movie. Interviews with Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong and Martin Campbell are included throughout the featurette. Some people haven't been too high on Lively's delivery of lines in the trailers, but from the clips shown here I think she will do just fine.

*UPDATE* A second short video with even more footage and interview's has also been released that I stumbled across on Blog of Oa.
