Kilowog Returns

ATTENTION POOZERS! Although a bigger version of Kilowog's face was posted up back in Febraury, I thought this one was worth a look again. DC Comics released the official page preview from Green Lantern #62 which gives us a much clearer look at his face and earlier design as well as the article incase anyone hasn't read it yet. Can't wait to see the big guy in action, shouting orders and storming around on Oa.

New Green Lantern Trailer?

Since November, a lot of fans, including myself, have been sort of patiently waiting for some new footage from the upcoming Green Lantern film. Between that time and now we've been given promo art galore as well as a look at some really sweet action figures based on the movie. Rumors pop up all the time when it comes to unreleased flicks, especially the ones intended to be huge summer blockbusters with a rabid fan base attached.

I'm providing a link (here) you should take a look at. I promise that it's not a virus. I just want you to see for yourself what may be coming next week. My hope is that this holds truth. WB has refrained from releasing new official images and footage for some reason. It's probably just my impatience thinking they are dropping the ball in the marketing department. They know a lot is riding on this film and need it to succeed, so my doubts are lifting a bit now that I've rationalized their possible decision on keeping things hidden from the public.

The NECA promo art released today has my excitement level back on a positive route. They display Green Lantern in a better light and if I were the average person without a knowledge of the character my curiosity would be piqued. For now I'll just sit back and try to relax as we all play the waiting game. I wonder if it would help to recite the oath?

New Image From Emerald Knights And Official Synopsis

Official synopsis from Warner Bros:

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights is an all-new DC Universe Animated Original Movie that weaves six interlocking stories of the Green Lantern Corps’ rich mythology around preparations for an attack by an ancient enemy. As the battle approaches, Hal Jordan (voiced by Nathan Fillion, Castle) mentors new recruit Arisia (Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men) in the history of the Green Lantern Corps, telling tales of Avra (the first Green Lantern) and several of Hal’s comrades – including Abin Sur, Kilowog, Laira and Mogo. In the end, Arisia must rise to the occasion to help Hal, Sinestro and the entire Green Lantern Corps save the universe from the destructive forces of Krona.

Penned by comic book luminaries Geoff Johns, Dave Gibbons, Peter J. Tomasi, Eddie Berganza, Alan Burnett, Todd Casey and Michael Green & Marc Guggenheim, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights will be distributed June 7 by Warner Home Video as part of the build up to the release of the highly anticipated live action film, Green Lantern, in theatres June 17th.

More Promotional Art From NECA

This promotional art released from NECA is much more impressive than the posters from a few days ago. I'll refrain from ranting this time and just let you enjoy the pretty green images.

Four New Green Lantern Movie Posters

Daily Blam has four new posters for the upcoming Green Lantern film.

I would hope the marketing team over at WB would be attempting to get an official movie poster to be released in theatres to create more buzz for the movie. Instead we're given these kiddy styled posters which aren't bad but the quality certainly isn't something to get general public in a frenzy.

Granted these are from NECA, who gave us a preview of their Green Lantern merchandise earlier, so I know it is geared more towards the younger audience. Maybe I am impatient in waiting for the official poster but I don't even recall a teaser poster in theatres last year to let anyone in on the fact that this movie is being released.

A number of things have shown up since the trailer debut to help promote the movie like action figures, shirts, a video game, statues, and children's books. While these things are a positive for marketing it still feels like the biggest audience is being left in the dark and that's the general public. Most people have only seen the one trailer back in November which wasn't all that clear as to what the whole movie is about.

My guess is that WB is still holding back until they feel like the next trailer and poster are something that won't send more negative buzz towards the film. The date is getting closer and there is still a lot to be desired from the average person regarding Green Lantern. There are rumors abound that a new trailer will be attached to Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch film. A second trailer certainly should be soon and I think an official poster needs to be released into all major theaters world wide this month.

With that out of the way, I do like these posters. They will probably be the ones at Wal-Mart and Hot Topic or other shops in the mall. I really hope WB is cooking up something nice as the film gets closer to its release. I feel like the tagline at this point should be, "You have the ability to overcome a bad marketing strategy". As I said before maybe I am just being unfair and impatient but time is ticking and it feels like a lot of it has been wasted.
